Not sure which figures to use?

The pension calculator below provides an illustration, not a forecast. It does not provide personal financial advice or confirm whether you are saving enough.
Please see the assumptions at the bottom of this page to understand how the figures are calculated. A personal retirement plan requires a fuller assessment of your finances, circumstances and objectives, which Rapidus Wealth can help you explore.
Pensioner tax changes: This calculator does not currently include any additional allowance or exemption for low-income pensioners. We will review it once the final rules, eligibility criteria and implementation date are confirmed.

Tax estimate: 2026/27 England, Wales and Northern Ireland rates. This illustration uses the standard £12,570 Personal Allowance, reduced for income above £100,000. It does not include any additional tax allowance or exemption for low-income pensioners. Eligibility for any such measure may depend on your total income and the rules in force when you retire.

Read the assumptions and limitations
Figures are illustrative and in today's money. Pots are projected to your chosen retirement age using constant growth after charges and inflation. Contributions are paid at each month end and assumed to rise with inflation to retain their purchasing power. No withdrawals before retirement are modelled. Actual returns fluctuate and investments can fall in value. The growth slider does not represent the full range of possible outcomes.
The illustration covers one year's income at your retirement age. It assumes your schemes permit access then; eligibility is not checked. The initial annual withdrawal is 4% of the entire projected pot. This is a modelling assumption, not a recommended or guaranteed sustainable rate. All withdrawals are treated as taxable. No tax-free lump sum or annuity is modelled. Taking a lump sum would reduce the remaining invested pot.
Other pension income must be the amount payable at your chosen age, before tax and in today's money. No early retirement reductions are calculated automatically. State Pension is included only if its entered start age is at or before retirement. No later income changes, deferral increases or bridging strategy before State Pension starts are modelled.
The full new State Pension checkbox uses the 2026/27 rate of £241.30 a week, multiplied by 52 to give £12,547.60 a year. This is held constant in today's money for the illustration. Future real increases are not modelled. Selecting this option does not confirm your eligibility. Your actual entitlement may be higher or lower. Check your own State Pension forecast.
Estimated tax uses 2026/27 pension income rates for your selected location, the standard Personal Allowance and its income-related reduction. Scottish rates apply to pension income when Scotland is selected. Savings interest and dividends are not modelled. Assumes no other taxable income, allowances or reliefs. Tax thresholds are held fixed in today's money for illustration; future rules may differ. No tax relief or employer payments are added beyond the contributions entered. Contribution allowances and eligibility for tax relief are not assessed.
One-person Retirement Living Standards: Minimum £13,900, Moderate £32,700 and Comfortable £45,400 annual expenditure. These are spending benchmarks, not gross income targets or a personalised budget. They assume outright home ownership. Rent, mortgage payments, care costs and personal circumstances may increase what you need. Amounts checked on 21 October 2026. View the source.
This calculator does not assess how long your pension will last. Investment performance, the order of returns, inflation, charges, withdrawals and longevity affect outcomes. Highlighting a benchmark does not confirm retirement adequacy. This is general information, not personal financial advice.
